I have been super excited about the newest state of the SCS 4 DJ, as I believe they prematurely released the system years ago without it being stable enough to even feel comfortable using it in a live set. If you are following all of these steps prior, then just be sure to let the machine analyze you're drives while you are at home, or not at a gig and PUT YOUR DRIVES IN THE BOTTOM BAY and DON'T REMOVE THEM AFTER FINALIZING ANALYSIS!!! In the newest firmware, the software has been set to retain the memory of your drives even after multiple power cycles (ONLY IF YOU DON'T REMOVE THE DRIVES BETWEEN CYCLES!!!) So, after you deal with the long ass loading time once, you never have to deal with them again. Also you should be analyzing all your files prior to putting the drives into the SCS 4 DJ with the newest version of QUICK GRID and be sure you are running version 5.0.1 of the firmware. NTFS is best, but since you are still having major lag, you should probably format it as FAT 32. but make sure you are using the correct format with the drives. Ģ4 hours is rather excessive with version 5.0.1.I had the same issue in the past when I was running version 4 and earlier, it took forever to load, and would lock up almost immediately and was practically unusable as a stand alone system, so I just used as a midi controller forever, but would also keep a VERY SMALL flash drive (512 MB or less preferred) 1 GB MAX with me in case of computer crash.
